Propositions of hikes in the region of the Gemmi:

Leukerbad ��� Gemmipass ��� Schwarenbach ��� Kandersteg (8:00):
The Gemmipass is reached in two hours on a good and safe but steep hiking trail. The ascension on foot through the Gemmiwall offers some unique insights
on the steep rock faces. The trail was built in the 15th century. The Gemmi aerial ropeway leads in 6 mn on the pass. Gorgeous view on the Walliser Alps. From
there take the path along the right bank of the Dauben lake to Schwarenbach and after through the Spittelmatten Alp to Sunnb��el/Stock, where the path goes downhill to Eggenschwand/Kandersteg. From Eggenschwand to Kandersteg,
either go along the road (bus) or take the path on the left bank of the Kander.

Gemmipass ��� Dauben lake ��� Gemmipass:
Circuit around the Dauben lake taking about 2 hours.

Gemmipass ��� Adelboden (7:50):
Medium difficult mountain trail. Itinerary to the top of the Gemmipass. Short
descent to the L��mmeradalu. Cross it and continue along the left side of the
Dauben lake. At the end of the lake the path leads left through the ��Rote
Chummu�� and steeply uphill to the ridge between the Felsenhon and the Rotu
Totz. Further cross the glacier of T��lli and after a short ascension, reach the
Engstligengrat (between the Tierh��rnli and the Chindbettihorn). Marvellous
view. The path goes steeply downhill over stone rubble and through pastures
to the Engstligenalp and after in steep bends down to ��Unter dem Birg�� (Lower
station of the cableway to Engstligenalp). Auto service to Adelboden-Frutigen.
An easy walk goes on to Adelboden.

Gemmipass ��� L��mmeren hut (1:30):
From the Gemmipass go to the left and walk down to L��mmeradalu. Cross it and continue on the other side on the L��mmerenboden to the L��mmeren lake. At the end of the L��mmerenboden, turn right to go up to the hut.

L��mmeren glacier trail (5:00):
This adventure trail takes you from the Gemmi Pass and along the L��mmerenboden, an Alpine meadow landscape of national significance, to the Wildstrubel glacier. At various stops, a brochure provides you with information about the local geology and how the landscape was formed as well as details of the flora und fauna. You can also do the trail in two stages (with an overnight stay in the L��mmerenh��tte). The brochure is available from Leukerbad Tourism.
