Leukerbad - Crans-Montana

Good stamina and physical fitness are basic requirements for completing this route. Once you have reached 2,000 metres your efforts are rewarded by the fantastic views of the Rhone Valley.

The route takes you along the Roman Trail to Birchen. In front of the chapel the footpath bends up below the hamlet of Kluscheten to the broad trail leading to the Alpe Larschi and across the Ch��llerfl��e to Pfarschong (Rumeling/Varen turnoff).

The trail is fairly steep and leads northwards towards Ch��ller and Plammis. It soon turns westwards again to Planigr��chti (Stafel - Varneralpe) and continues to the Roti Hittu. This section takes you across Alpine meadows and through the wood into the deep trench of the Ti��che stream. On the other side you pass along a water conduit heading towards the Alpe Aprilie and continue to Plumachit/ Montana. Before long you can put your feet up and rest in one of the many restaurants in Montana before taking public transport for the return journey.
