Historical hike over the Gemmi pass

The classic 2-hour Gemmi hike takes you down gently to lake Dauben, past the 250-year old Schwarenbach mountain hotel and the idyllic "Arvenseeli" to the upper terminal of the Sunnb��el cable car.

From there the cable car runs to Kandersteg. For the trip back to Leukerbad you catch the train via Brig-Leuk.

Of course you can also do the trip the other way round. It will take you about half an hour longer because of the slight ascent, but then you will be rewarded with a wonderful thermal bath in Leukerbad. Get a round-trip ticket, it can be purchased at all ticket offices along the route.
