Gemmi Sheep Procession,

The yearly Alpine Sheep Procession from Gemmi to Leukerbad is always a unique event, providing a memorable experience for holiday makers, residents, shepherds and, of course, the sheep.
On Saturday around 800 sheep will be rounded up on Gemmi, before being driven down the steep Gemmi path to Leukerbad on Sunday. After a short break for the shepherds and the sheep, they will continue on down the valley to Leuk. All in all, the flock will descend over 1,700 metres.
You will get the best view of the Gemmi path from the Allmei, where raclette, a barbecue and musical entertainment will also be on offer.
